IHRSA Foundation’s ACCESS Health Initiative Programs Set to Launch as ihrsafoundation.org Debuts

BOSTON, MA - The IHRSA Foundation announced that 2017 will see the launch of five ACCESS Health pilot programs in IHRSA clubs, from California to New York. The ACCESS Health Initiative is the IHRSA Foundation’s five-year strategic effort to remove barriers to physical activity for people with chronic conditions through participant-focused, multi-dimensional wellness programs. One such program, funded by the IHRSA Foundation and the American Council on Exercise (ACE), is a pilot to serve cancer patients in San Diego area health clubs. Read More...

James M. Cox Foundation and Jim Kennedy Donate $2.5 Million to Build Fitness Center for Emory St. Joseph’s Staff

ATLANTA, GA - The James M. Cox Foundation and Jim Kennedy made a combined $2.5 million gift for the construction of the James C. Kennedy Fitness Center at Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital. Blink Fitness Signs Multi-Unit Development Agreement

ATLANTA, GA - A group of veterans served by Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) recently learned new techniques for managing their physical health and wellness at an Atlanta expo. The 3-day event was available to veterans of all fitness levels, no matter where they were in their recoveries. JANET DOYLE, the wife of IHRSA Founding Member and industry veteran, John Doyle, passed away on January 18, 2017. She went into the hospital on January 4th, and after two weeks, she passed away from complications of viral pneumonia and Parkinson's disease. A mass for Jan will be held on Tuesday, January 31st at 11AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Read More...
