CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - It is with a heavy heart that we announce all acac locations will close for a minimum of a week. We know how many people, members, guests and team members depend on our club every day. While we have not had any outbreak of the virus occur in our acac community, in light of the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and in an effort to be responsible stewards for our community at large, we feel continued operation at this time is inadvisable. At this time, Active Sports Clubs is temporarily closed in accordance with the shelter in place order. We remain an outlet for our community to take good care by offering virtual training, daily workout videos to do at home, walking challenges, as well as tips and inspiration to stay well. Our hearts go out to all who have already been affected by this terrible virus and those who may be affected in the future. As we’re sure you already know New York State is requiring us to close our doors. While we understand the need for this action, we can’t help but feel that the products and services we offer are part of the long-term solution to illness. The safety and health of the FFC Community, members and staff alike, is our number one priority. As you are aware, we have been taking additional proactive steps for the last several days. We plan to reopen as soon as possible, following local, state and national guidance. DALLAS, TX - Gold's Gym has made the decision to temporarily close all company-owned Gold's Gym locations in the U.S., including Texas, Oklahoma, St. Louis and Carolina gyms through March 31, 2020, to do its part in slowing the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Privately-owned franchised gyms will make their own determinations on when and whether to close and are watching this situation very closely. LONDON, CANADA - Since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, we have been carefully monitoring the progression of the virus and closely following the advice of Canada’s public health authorities. We have followed their recommendations and have implemented numerous changes in our Clubs to focus on our highest priority—the health and safety of our Members, Associates and everyone in Canada. As the virus continues to spread in communities across Canada, and with Canada’s Chief Public Health Officer raising the public risk to ‘serious,’ we are seeing the need for increasingly bold action to reduce the transmission.
