BOSTON, MA – The Board of Directors of the New England Health Racquet & Sportsclub Association has announced the selection of Jason Mason as its next Executive Director. This appointment follows an exhaustive selection process.

Laura Wilson, NEHRSA Board President expressed the board’s delight with the selection. “Jason is a born leader and innovator with over fifteen years of industry experience, including the position of past president of NEHRSA. He is well respected among club operators and suppliers alike and has shown commitment to keeping the fitness industry at the cutting edge of innovation and impact on the lives of its members.

“It is an honor to serve NEHRSA.” said Mason. “I am excited to connect with each and every member club as well as with the suppliers who faithfully support the association. My singular objective is to make NEHRSA membership indispensible and to help both club and supplier members leverage it for growth and industry connections.”

Mason began his industry journey in 2000 and has specialized as a licensed, certified athletic trainer, most recently at the Beverly Athletic Club, Beverly MA. He holds several fitness certifications and has presented at numerous industry events including the annual IHRSA (International Health Racquet & Sportsclub Association) conference.

One of Jason’s passions is cheerleading, which led him to co-found Stunt Double Cheer, a cheer and gymnastics training organization focused on improving individual technique and strength to maximize performance while avoiding injury. A former Grand National Champion at Northeastern University, Jason has also performed with the East Celebrity Elite All Stars and the Boston Celtics.

“Our priorities at NEHRSA are very clear.” Jason stressed. “We intend for NEHRSA to provide world class networking, education, and the best in products and services for our members. Maximizing the relationship between our clubs and our suppliers is priority one. We are preparing a number of exciting workshops and roundtables as well as planning for our always-popular annual golf tournament. We are in the process of putting a date on the books now for our fall conference. The theme this year is ‘building for the future’ as we want to work directly with our members to ensure that we deliver effective and timely information that helps them compete and grow in an increasingly competitive marketplace.”
