MOSSA Plans to Release Its Workout Videos for Xbox Fitness Before Microsoft’s Shutdown of the Service

MARIETTA, GA - MOSSA has revealed its plans to offer standalone versions of its series of video workouts that are on Xbox Fitness before the Xbox One service itself completely shuts down in July 2017. Microsoft announced in late June that it has shut down purchases of paid Xbox Fitness workouts, but users who have already paid for those videos could continue to use them until the full shutdown in July 2017. In a YouTube message, MOSSA Vice President, Cathy Spencer-Browning, stated that the company's goal is to provide its workouts in some way long before July 1, 2017. Read More...

Genesis Health Clubs to Close Three Recently Acquired Locations

KANSAS CITY, MO (kansascity.com) - Two weeks after taking over the eight area 24 Hour Fitness Clubs, Genesis Health Clubs plans to close three area locations. Two of the clubs set to close are former 24 Hour Fitness locations, as well as a former Gold’s Gym. Club members, including those who previously had single club access, will be given access to all of the Genesis Health Clubs in the Kansas City area with no increase in their monthly dues with the exception of Metcalf Super Sport and the Premier club at 12075 Metcalf Ave in Overland Park. Cybex’s Minnesota Factory Set For Expansion

OWATONNA, MN - Life Fitness, a global leader in commercial fitness equipment, will break ground at its Cybex facility in Owatonna, Minnesota, on June 28, to make way for a 150,000-square-foot expansion. The addition comes after Cybex was acquired by Life Fitness’ parent company, Brunswick Corporation (NYSE: BC), in January 2016. Scheduled for completion in December 2016, the expanded facility will total 490,000 square feet. The expansion, coupled with an investment in automation and technology, will dramatically increase the facility’s overall manufacturing capacity to support the continued growth in the fitness industry. Planet Fitness Says Don’t Sweat The Swimsuit

NEWINGTON, N.H. - With the first official week of summer underway, and with bathing suit season in full swing, a new survey by Planet Fitness shows that showing some skin is a source of some major summer stress. According to the independent survey, one-third (33%) of Americans would rather go to the dentist than wear a bathing suit this summer. The surveyed showed that "beachtimidation" is just as real as "gymtimidation," with nearly half (46%) of respondents claiming they do not feel confident about their body in a bathing suit.
