LAKE NONA, FL – The United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA), Inc. formally announces the appointment of Leanne Palmisano as the new USPTA Intermountain Executive Director.

Leanne has been a USPTA member for 38 years. She served as director of tennis for Crestmoor Community Association, a private club in Denver, for 33 years. There, she built a robust and active tennis program. Leanne shared tennis with generations of families, ultimately contributing to the growth of and interest in the sport.

Through her work as head men’s and women’s tennis coach at the University of Denver from 1986-1990, and Team Colorado and USTA Intermountain Sectional zonal coach for many years, Leanne impacted both collegiate athletes and the region’s most talented junior players along the way. Over the years, she also volunteered on USTA Colorado committees to enhance programming and services that impact players statewide.

Leanne was the first female tennis player in University of New Mexico history to advance to the NCAA Division I National Championships and was later inducted into the university’s Athletic Hall of Honor in 2008. In 2023, she was recognized for her longtime service to the tennis community with the USTA Colorado Bud Robineau Award.

“I am honored to become the next USPTA Intermountain Division Executive Director. It’s an opportunity to serve the tennis community in a new way and I’m excited to help our president and board serve our members,” Palmisano said. “I also look forward to working with the USPTA leadership and staff to promote our mission.”
