ASBA Announces Publication of Updated Tennis Courts Construction Manual

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – The American Sports Builders Association (ASBA), the national organization for builders, designers and suppliers of materials for tennis courts, running tracks, sports fields and indoor and outdoor courts and recreational facilities, has announced the publication of the 2021 edition of “Tennis Courts: Construction & Maintenance Manual,” which it produces jointly with the U.S. Tennis Association (USTA).
The new edition, in print or as a downloadable, linked pdf, is available on ASBA’s website, www.sportsbuilders.org.
The book is designed for anyone involved in building, maintaining, repairing or renovating all types of tennis courts and facilities. It includes user-friendly technical information on all aspects of quality construction, including design, budgeting and planning, site requirements, surface selection, construction, maintenance, repair, amenities, accessories and more. In addition, it includes diagrams, photos, resources and sources for further information. It is also the textbook for those taking the ASBA’s Certified Tennis Court Builder exam.
“The new edition of the ‘Tennis Courts’ manual has updated information throughout,” says David LaSota, the Chairman of the Joint Editorial Board, made up of representatives from both the ASBA and the USTA, who worked to update and rewrite the manual. “We’ve created a more user-friendly publication that follows the process from conception to construction to completion.”
Copies of the new edition are available at a cost of $44.95. Books can be ordered in either hard copy or digital format by going to the website, www.sportsbuilders.org and selecting the “Resources” tab at the top, then “Publications.”
The ASBA is a non-profit association helping designers, builders, owners, operators and users understand quality athletic facility construction.
