ALPHARETTA, GA – Workout Anytime’s “think big, keep it simple and do it with integrity” motto has made it one of the most successful brands in the fitness space, with more than 160 units across the U.S. The brand’s continued growth is due in part to its focus on franchisee support, and now, it is continuing to put franchisees first with the promotion of two executives, Dennis Holcom and Wanda Johnson, who are working closely together to ensure Workout Anytime’s franchise owners have the resources they need to thrive.

Dennis Holcom and Wanda Johnson are no strangers to the world of fitness: Holcom has 30-plus years of experience in the industry, and Johnson has worked with Workout Anytime’s CEO, Steve Strickland, since the 80s. Their dedication to the fitness segment has taken them far — Holcom was promoted to senior vice president of franchise support with Workout Anytime, and Johson was promoted to senior vice president of franchise operations/construction.

Together, they have one goal: preparing the brand’s franchisees for success.

“Dennis and Wanda are two of the best people in their field,” said Strickland. “It’s an honor to be able to recognize them for all that they’ve accomplished for Workout Anytime, and we’re proud that they’re continuing to grow with our company.”

How Workout Anytime’s New Executive Roles Will Drive Franchisee Success

Although Holcom and Johnson bring different strengths to their new roles, they also complement each other. And when working in tandem, they aim to provide the most streamlined, informative process for franchisees — from start to finish.

“My role is on the front end,” said Johnson. “I work with the franchisees on standard operating procedures. I am with them all the way up to their opening day.”

According to Holcom, he wears many hats — or one giant “sombrero.”

“My role encompasses franchise support. We’re coaches who help with the franchisee relationships after they’ve gone through the initial build-out,” he said. “We help with the presale, the strategy and a little bit with the compliance, too. We’re the boots on the ground. And on the marketing side, we drive member acquisition and retention through monthly promotions as well as target where members are likely to purchase. Our real goal is to drive revenue, get people in the door and keep them.”

Since franchise development is a major focus for Workout Anytime this year, Johnson and Holcom are making enhanced franchisee support their top priority in their new roles.

“2020 taught us a lesson as far as how we onboard our franchisees,” Holcom said. “Prior, it was 10 days of on-site training. What we’ve had to do is rethink that process. How can we make our educational platform more easily comprehensible so our franchisees come prepared to do things that aren’t face-to-face?”

Johnson added, “I want to focus on making an easier, simpler process for our franchisees because the quicker that turnaround, the easier it is for them to get to presales and opening their clubs. I’m going to work to make sure we can eliminate the obstacles and challenges that come with construction on the front end, too.”

How Increased Franchisee Support Will Drive Workout Anytime’s Growth in 2021 and Beyond

By streamlining the onboarding process and providing more support for franchisees, Johnson and Holcom hope to make 2021, 2022 and beyond some of the best years the brand will ever have.

“We want to make it more of an experience,” Holcom said. “It’s going to be about the community and the experience, not just the brick-and-mortar side of it. We want to give better tools to our franchisees, especially with how the industry is changing. Our goal is to open 40 new clubs in 2021.”

For Johnson, the future is all about unity. “We want to have engagement with our franchisees. They have their own experiences out there on the ground, and we can pull value from that perspective to become a better company and be unified as a team together.”

As a part of its emphasis on franchise development, the brand will host a franchise conference in June 2021 to unite its corporate team with its franchise owners. And Johnson and Holcom expect nothing but continued growth and expansion.

“We’re very much driven by the success of the company itself,” Holcom said. “This brand is poised to do great things now and in the future. We are the right size, we have what it takes to run our businesses and we have a great support staff and franchisees.”

The startup costs for a Workout Anytime franchise range from $562,850 to $1,008,550, including the franchise fee. To learn more about franchising with Workout Anytime, visit workoutanytimefranchise.com.
