VillaSport Announces Acquisition of Axiom Fitness

SAN RAFAEL, CA – VillaSport Athletic Club and Spa announces the acquisition of Axiom Fitness, a four-club fitness chain in Boise, Idaho. VillaSport has initiated a major expansion effort and continues to seek new locations in the greater Boise area and in its existing markets.
“We are excited about expanding to a new market and growing our community and presence in Idaho. This acquisition complements our plan to build full-size VillaSport clubs in Treasure Valley and broaden our offerings and services,” said Billy Malkovich, president of VillaSport.
Once part of the Gold’s Gym brand, Axiom Fitness is considered a leading fitness chain in Treasure Valley. Each club is fully equipped with strength and cardio equipment and staffed by professional personal trainers who are available for 1-on-1 and small-group training (SGT-6). They offer a complete group exercise schedule, including LES MILLS programming taught by their professional group exercise instructors. Select locations also feature recreational facilities like racquetball courts, basketball courts, and swimming pools.
The Axiom acquisition with VillaSport’s current portfolio of seven locations brings the total to 11 clubs across five states. “It’s an exciting time here at VillaSport. We have an aggressive growth plan, through both acquisition and green field development. If there are similar opportunities in other markets, we are open to hearing about them. While the large format, family-focused VillaSport model is our foundation, the smaller fitness-focused model allows more accessibility in current and new markets. The Axiom project affords new possibilities for VillaSport, and having a mixed portfolio of large and mid-size clubs is our goal,” said Joe Syufy, CEO of VillaSport.
