CHANHASSEN, MN – Snap Fitness, America’s Fitness Brand that provides a world-class workout experience at an affordable price, recently presented Common Hope, a Minnesota-based charity, with a check for $100,000 at the 24/7 fitness franchise’s corporate headquarters.

The donation will go straight to helping children in Guatemala receive a quality education. Over the past four years, Snap Fitness Founder/CEO Peter Taunton’s philanthropic efforts with Common Hope have resulted in greatly improved classrooms and nearly 2,000 hours of mentoring to first grade students.

“There is no greater feeling than knowing you made a difference in someone’s life,” Snap Fitness Founder/CEO Peter Taunton said. “I’m proud to work with such a special group like Common Hope that is focused on helping others in need.”

Common Hope, founded in 1986, is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote hope and opportunity in Guatemala, partnering with children, families and communities who want to participate in a process of development to improve their lives through education, health care and housing.

This marks the latest effort in the Snap Serves campaign, which was launched after Snap Fitness reached 300,000 Facebook likes at the end of January. To celebrate that impressive accomplishment, Snap Fitness pledged to match that number in hours of community involvement. This donation will go a long way in providing the resources needed for continued support with mentoring for the students in Guatemala.

“It’s one thing to be the top wellness brand in the world, but it’s another to truly make an impact,” Taunton said. “America’s Fitness Brand does both.”
