BOCA RATON, FL – Orangetheory Fitness, the scientifically backed and fast-growing fitness franchise, announced the signing of its 1,000th franchise development agreement for the U.S., which will bring a new studio to Modesto, California later this year. This agreement marks a significant milestone for Orangetheory Fitness following an exceptional year of growth in 2016, reporting a 108% increase in system-wide sales and a 19.3% increase in same-store sales.

“The rate at which Orangetheory Fitness has grown since launching in 2010 has far surpassed our wildest expectations. Signing our 1,000th franchise agreement for the U.S. is a huge deal and speaks volumes about Orangetheory’s impact on people’s lives all around the world,” said Dave Long, co-founder and chief executive officer of Orangetheory Fitness. “We’re continuing this momentum as we further expand our presence around the globe, with 1,230 agreements signed worldwide. Our success and unprecedented franchise growth is largely due to our passionate network of franchisees. With their help and commitment, we are transcending the fitness category as a global brand backed by science, innovation and proven results.”

Orangetheory Fitness signed its 1,000th domestic franchise agreement with California native Karin Neal, whose studio is slated to open this year in Modesto, California. A mother of three and health and wellness advocate, Neal was first introduced to Orangetheory Fitness by her daughter and after taking just one class, she knew this was something she had to be a part of. As a dedicated triathlete, fitness is a big part of Neal’s life and after incorporating Orangetheory into her daily fitness routine, she took it a step further by becoming a certified Orangetheory Fitness coach at the Novato studio. Inspired by the company’s vision, innovation and business model, Neal decided to become a franchisee to further grow the brand and introduce Orangetheory Fitness to her community.

“I am incredibly honored to be a part of this growth milestone for Orangetheory Fitness and take pride in joining a brand whose commitment to health and wellness matches my own,” said Neal. “As a triathlete and current Orangetheory Fitness coach, I speak from firsthand experience when I say that the science behind this concept makes for one of the most effective workouts I’ve ever done. I am motivated every day by the strength of our members as they work toward transforming their lives and look forward to being inspired by a new set of members when I open my studio in Modesto later this year.”

Orangetheory Fitness launched its first studio in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. in March 2010, and has transformed into one of the world’s top fitness franchises, with more than 630 studios in 45 states and 13 countries. The 60-minute, five zone heart-rate monitored interval training concept has helped tens of thousands of members lose weight, get toned and meet their overall fitness goals in a short amount of time. The fitness franchise is on track to have 900 open studios in 2017.
