ORLANDO, FL – Genesis Health Clubs and MVP Sports Clubs announce the sale of the RDV Sportsplex from MVP to Genesis. Since 1998, the 365,000-square-foot facility has served as one of the most unique and comprehensive multi-purpose health and athletic facilities in the country. The acquisition includes RDV Athletic Club, RDV Ice Den and onsite office spaces.

“It has been our privilege to operate and manage RDV Sportsplex for the past 25 years. We are excited to see the new owner continue the legacy of fitness, wellness, and sports in Central Florida. We know Genesis Health Clubs will be a great partner with the community and provide growth and services for years to come,” said Karl Droppers, MVP Sports Clubs President.

Based in Wichita, KS, Genesis Health Clubs came to the Central Florida market in May 2022 with the purchase of MVP Athletic Club-Brownwood and MVP Athletic Club-Spanish Springs in The Villages. With over 35 years of experience in the health and fitness industry, the purchase of RDV Sportsplex increases its portfolio to three Florida locations and 61 locations across the USA.

Genesis Health Clubs Owner and President Rodney Steven II expressed the company’s commitment to fitness in Florida. “When we enter a new market, we like to go big, and the Sportsplex is definitely big! There’s so much under one roof, from fitness to tennis to ice skating; it has something for everyone. We’re humbled to have the opportunity to take on such a fitness institution in Florida, and we can’t wait for the members to see what we have in store.”

Effective December 13th, RDV Sportsplex will be known as Genesis Heath Clubs – Orlando Sportsplex, and the ice center will be known as the Genesis Ice Den. The transition to Genesis allows all RDV Athletic Club members to continue membership seamlessly with no interruptions and no price increase. Members will immediately gain access to 61 clubs in seven states, including the new locations located nearby in The Villages.

Steven concluded, “It’s a win-win for everybody. We have big plans in Florida, and we can’t wait to share more!”
