NEW YORK, N.Y. – Cycle for Survival, the movement to beat rare cancers, will celebrate the national launch of registration and fundraising for its 2018 signature rides with the Times Square Takeover on September 27, 2017. Nearly 1,000 supporters will take part, including rare cancer survivors, patients, caregivers, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) doctors and special guests. High-energy cycling rides will be led by instructors from Equinox, Cycle for Survival’s founding partner, on more than 100 stationary bikes in the heart of Times Square. The event is presented by smartwater, Cycle for Survival’s longstanding official hydration sponsor. TAG Heuer, the avant-garde of Swiss watchmaking, will debut its sponsorship as the Official Timepiece and Official Timekeeper of Cycle for Survival.

The Times Square Takeover marks the official kick-off of registration and the start of fundraising for Cycle for Survival’s 12th year of national indoor cycling events that will take place in 16 cities in January, February and March of 2018. Supporters across the country will take action on September 27 by raising awareness about the cause on social media, registering for the upcoming signature rides and making donations at cycleforsurvival.org. 100% of every dollar raised goes to rare cancer research led by MSK, which owns and operates Cycle for Survival.

Thanks to hundreds of thousands of supporters across the country, Cycle for Survival has raised more than $140 million since its founding in 2007—making it the fastest-growing athletic fundraising event in the country.
