NEW YORK, N.Y. – After a decade of being closed, Blink Fitness will re-open the restored Ridgewood Theatre to create a premium quality, affordable fitness brand for the community. The gym will open the doors to its much-anticipated location at 55-27 Myrtle Avenue on Tuesday, November 13th from 11 AM to 12 PM.

In celebration of turning the lights back on and to honor this historic staple of the community, Blink is holding a Premiere Party on Tuesday evening from 5 PM to 7PM to offer the community a look at the restored theatre and to enjoy free food, music and Blink giveaways. As Blink worked to restore the former Ridgewood Theatre, it was important to the team to maintain the original design of theatre. The landmarked marquee of the theatre remains, and all Blink Fitness Premier Party attendees and gym members will have the opportunity to walk through the famed façade.

As a part of the Grand Opening celebration, Blink Fitness will also donate 50 one-year memberships, worth over $10,000, to the Greater Ridgewood Youth Council, an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for youths and families in Queens through service.

“The Greater Ridgewood Youth Council serves over 3,200 youth and families on a daily basis through multi-service, comprehensive programs that include; Fitness and Healthy Living. This incredibly generous gift from Blink allows us to enhance our efforts in this area and creates a partnership that will last a long time,” says Bob Monahan, GRYC President.

Attendees will have the chance to receive Blink Fitness branded gear, while one lucky attendee will win a one-year membership to the new gym. The first 75 Premiere Party attendees that sign up for a membership will also receive a free Blink swag bag. In addition, the Greater Ridgewood Youth Council and Blink Fitness representatives will take part in a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11 AM to officially open the gym to the public.

“We are excited to open the doors to our 75th location, bringing our Mood Above Muscle philosophy to this meaningful location in the Ridgewood community,” said Freddy Olmedo, Club Manager. “We’re sure that Blink will restore this location to a healthy, happy hub of activity in the neighborhood.”

As a gym that promises to provide a premium experience to all who join, memberships are available for as low as $15 per month with a free start up personal training session. To celebrate the 75th location, memberships are available for special offer of just 75 cents on November 13th.

The newest Blink Fitness facility boasts a broad offering of top-of-the-line strength equipment that includes free weights, plates, and machines for upper body, lower body, and core. Additionally, the facility offers a wide variety of premium cardio machines and a multi-use space for additional exercises, stretching, and functional training. Certified personal trainers are available for those members who wish to create a custom workout experience tailored to their personal goals.
