ACE Study Examines Effects Of Boks Before-School Physical Activity Program

SAN DIEGO, CA - Today, approximately one in three elementary school students in the United States is classified as overweight or obese, according to the Journal of the American Medical Association. Moreover, about 50% do not meet the recommended 60 minutes of large muscle movement most days of the week and only 4% of American schools provide daily physical education. ACE enlisted the aid of Wayne Westcott, Ph.D., Director of Exercise Science at Quincy College in Quincy, MA and a noted youth fitness expert, to conduct a study to evaluate the effectiveness of a free before-school physical activity program called Build Our Kids’ Success (BOKS), which was designed to combat physical inactivity among youth. New Study Evaluates Whether Pedaling Backward Boosts Cycling Performance

SAN DIEGO, CA - Pedaling backward on a stationary bike has been used as a means to potentially boost cycling performance and change the way leg muscles are stimulated. Unfortunately, little research has been conducted on the effectiveness of this training approach.
