KENNETT SQUARE, PA – Power Wellness, a leading provider of wellness and medically-based fitness services, and Genesis Rehab Services (GRS), one of the largest providers of contract rehabilitation in the United States, announce PowerCare, a joint venture designed to bridge rehabilitation therapy care, and fitness and wellness programs to focus on both chronic disease management and preventative care.

GRS President Dan Hirschfeld remarks, “Our organizations are united to help providers create a stronger network of population health management, while transparently enhancing a provider’s reputation among healthcare consumers.”

Two healthcare leaders aligned to help shift standard of care from “treat” to “prevent”

The United States is undergoing a paradigm shift in healthcare. One critical need is to redefine health services to not only focus on treating illness, but also on improving general health. Many individuals are unprepared to adopt sustainable lifestyle changes to prevent disease or disability. The founders of PowerCare recognize this gap.

Through PowerCare’s network of hospital systems, skilled nursing facilities, short-stay rehab facilities, fitness and wellness centers, and even an individual’s home, partners can proactively identify and manage consumers’ health changes and potential risk factors. In addition, individuals can better manage their well-being via increased access to rehabilitation and wellness professionals.

Jean Brooks, an industry leader with 25 years’ experience in healthcare, will lead PowerCare. Brooks, who most recently served as president of Premier Therapy Services, has a strong vision. Brooks upholds, “the aligned values and proven methodologies of these two companies will allow providers to better offer services that are seamless, integrated, cost effective, and consumer centered. Care communities will form to provide the very best in wellness and therapy services. The vast array of healthy living options will be immense.”

PowerCare supports the Institute for Health Improvement’s Triple Aim to improve the patient experience of care, improve the health of populations, and reduce the per capita cost of health care.
