CANADA – In cooperation with Health Canada, Peloton announces a voluntary recall of the Peloton Original Bike seat post sold from January 2018 to May 2023. Peloton is offering Members a replacement of their Bike’s seat post as the approved remedy.
The seat post can break unexpectedly during use, creating a potential fall and injury risk. The issue has occurred primarily in users who are taller than 5’ 11” (180cm) and weigh more than 250 pounds (114kg). Peloton has identified 1 report of a seat post breaking, and no reports of injuries, out of 108,000 units sold in Canada.
Peloton is offering a free, replacement seat post to all Canadian Peloton original Bike owners, which can be installed at home, without the need for a service call. One seat post replacement will be offered per Bike.
There is no impact to global Peloton Bike+ Members nor Peloton original Bike Members in the UK, Germany, and Australia.
The Peloton original Bike model can be identified by its PL-01 model number on the label located on the inside front fork (near the flywheel), the red “P” logo followed by the white-coloured “Peloton” brand name on the Bike’s frame, and by its non-swivel display.
Our commitment to Member safety is unwavering. For Peloton, we worked closely and cooperatively with Health Canada with today’s announcement.
