LANCASTER, PA – Ecore, a flooring manufacturer whose mission statement is: we transform reclaimed waste into unique performance surfaces that make people’s lives better. and its 254 employees at its Lancaster, PA plant demonstrated those last 4 words: making people’s lives better. Recently, 11,416 pounds of food was collected for New Creation Church in Lancaster City as part of the Lancaster Chamber’s #ImpactLancaster Leadership Challenge. Sponsored by EF Strategic Consultancy, local businesses were encouraged to make a difference in their community.

Ecore’s original goal of collecting 1,200 pounds of food in its Team Up Against Hunger food drive from March 14 to April 14 was surpassed by almost more than 10 times this amount! “What our employees did is just awesome,” said Art Dodge III, CEO and President of Ecore. “What an amazingly kind and generous group of people I am blessed to work with.”

Ecore exceeded its food drive goal by breaking employees into 11 teams of 10-15 members at and having them compete to see who could collect the most non-perishable goods. All collections were donated to New Creation Church in Lancaster, an organization Ecore selected because of its location close to where Ecore employees live and work.

The New Creation Church Food Bank provides pre-bagged groceries, including fresh meat and produce, to anyone in need and serves about 60 families a week. New Creation also supplies food to The Mix at Arbor Place, a non-denominational faith-based, 501c3 not-for-profit organization also located in southeastern Lancaster City that serves inner-city youth.

Although Ecore didn’t win the grand prize in the #ImpactLancaster Leadership Challenge, the employees feel good about making a positive impact in their community. “Whether providing good jobs, making great flooring products, or helping our neighbors in need, Ecore is a company truly dedicated to making people’s lives better,” said Dodge.

Ecore has been in business since 1871 and employees more than 400 employees nationwide.
