SAN DIEGO, CA – Augie’s Quest kicked off the week at IHRSA by celebrating Augie with some of our key supporters and friends from the health and fitness industry. A special thanks to our friends at Bay Club and Zumba for making Augie’s Celebration a success! Augie’s Quest received over $300,000 from the health and fitness industry, helping it continue Augie’s legacy!
It was a memorable evening with the highlight being some words from Lynne…
“ALS was Augie’s biggest tragedy. But how he dealt with it was his greatest triumph. His strength, leadership, perseverance and indomitable spirit set examples for all of us to live the rest of our lives and emulate that. He showed us how to best deal with an extraordinarily bad situation and to deal with it with grace and courage and love, and most of all with a sense of humor.”
Augie urged all of us to continue his Quest to find a cure for ALS – and these incredible donors stepped up to allow Augie’s Quest to continue the critical work being done by the Augie’s Quest Translational Research Center.
Later in the week, Life Fitness hosted a special happy hour at their booth in honor of Augie. Life Fitness President, Paul Stoneham surprised Lynne with a $500,000 commitment to Augie’s Quest over the next five years. This investment from the company that Augie founded will help continue Augie’s legacy and hopefully inspire others in the industry to do the same.
