Phase 2 Trial of ALS TDI-Invented AT-1501 Almost Fully Enrolled

CAMBRIDGE, MA - A phase 2 trial of AT-1501, a potential ALS treatment invented the ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI), is almost fully enrolled according to its current sponsor, Eledon Pharmaceuticals. AT-1501 (antiCD40L) is an antibody therapeutic with comprehensive and promising preclinical data. It blocks specific immune cell activation and protects nerves against the progression of ALS and Alzheimer's disease. CAMBRIDGE, MA - The journey from the first symptoms of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) to a confirmed diagnosis can be long and challenging. There is no one test that can determine whether someone does or does not have ALS. Many different kinds of testing are often required to rule out the various other diseases that can cause similar symptoms, from cancers to autoimmune disorders to other neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson’s and Multiple Sclerosis. The diagnosis process can take months, or even years. However, obtaining a conclusive diagnosis of ALS is crucially important for developing a proper plan for care and treatment. He earned the nickname “The Iron Horse” for his legendary durability, setting a record for most consecutive games played, 2,130, that stood for 56 years. He played his entire major league career, from 1923 to 1939, with the New York Yankees.
