A Special Message from Augie Nieto
Posted: March 29, 2019 in Other News
14 years ago today, my life changed forever when I was diagnosed with ALS. For those of you who don’t know, ALS is a neurodegenerative disease that attacks the motor neurons in otherwise healthy individuals, until you cannot walk, or talk, or move. I know my wife Lynne and I are one of the lucky ones with ALS. I am so fortunate to still have a voice to raise funds for critical research and spread awareness about this destructive disease. It is a lot harder for me to speak now, so I choose my words carefully: ALS can only be cured if all of us work together! Please consider donating $15 to support our quest to fast-track innovative ALS research that can help end ALS once and for all. Every single dollar counts! Thank you. Read More...
End of 2018 Update From ALS TDI
Posted: December 31, 2018 in Other News
CAMBRIDGE, MA - As our team works through the last hours of 2018, we wanted to take the time to reflect on some of the ALS Therapy Development Institute’s notable accomplishments from the year. Despite all the progress made this year, we know that 2018 also brought incredible loss to families and people battling this disease. Loss of independence, loss of abilities and the devastating loss of loved ones. Not a day goes by at ALS TDI that we don’t mourn someone who has passed and talk to others who are currently fighting. These conversations motivate us to keep up the momentum of 2018 and try to do even more in 2019. Read More...
