IHRSA 2016: A Global Celebration of Success by Association

ORLANDO, FL – A characteristic that sets IHRSA’s International Convention & Trade Show apart from all other industry gatherings is the sheer diversity of the annual event’s global attendance. IHRSA 2015 in Los Angeles attracted over 13,000 industry professionals, including 8,000 convention and trade show attendees. Of that, over 43% of convention attendees and 24% of the trade show visitors were from outside the United States, representing 83 different countries. IHRSA 2016, IHRSA’s 35th Annual International Convention & Trade Show, taking place in Orlando, Florida March 21-24, promises to have an even larger international attendance thanks to the efforts of the association’s many international partners, special tour groups and specific programming for international attendees.
Special IHRSA 2016 tours are being promoted by IHRSA partners from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, Italy, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia / CIS & Baltic countries, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
“We add at least one new country to our list of tours each year, and work to strengthen existing ones,” said Alison Giannaras, IHRSA Associate Vice President of International Development. “This year, we added tours from the United Kingdom and Poland, while our Russian tour continues to lead the way with over 150 participants.”
“We are excited to be hosting a stimulating social and education tour to accommodate more than double the number of people from the UK attending IHRSA this year” added Mel Spooner, of THE PROJECT NETWORK and IHRSA’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom.
Programming and services specifically geared to IHRSA’s International attendees include:
- Simultaneous translation of the keynotes and select educational sessions in Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, and Portuguese.
- Regional Forums for Latin America, Canada, Asia-Pacific, and the UK.
- Several country specific social events and the incredibly popular annual Planet IHRSA reception on Tuesday, March 22, which is open to all International convention attendees.
