World Gym Expands, Opening Two New Facilities In Kansas And Missouri and Three in Canada

LOS ANGELES, CA – World Gym International, the iconic global brand for bodybuilding and serious fitness, has opened two more fitness centers in Merriam, Kansas, and Gladstone, Missouri, and three more across Canada.
The Merriam and Gladstone facilities are both converting from existing gyms and will remain open during the renovations. Each gym will add some brand new, state-of-the-art equipment, to accompany the services that they already offer such as childcare, a juice bar, a steam room and sauna, tanning, massage and chiropractic, and fully equipped, remodeled dressing areas.
The Merriam location, located on 6501 E. Frontage Road, is a 90,000 sq. ft. facility that also includes 12 tennis courts, two racquetball courts, and a ringside fitness boxing area. The Gladstone facility, located on 1141 NE Vivion Road, is a 37,000 sq. ft. facility and also offers two outdoor tennis courts. Both locations will offer group exercise classes including but not limited to Yoga, Pilates, Body Pump, Body Combat, Ab Lab, Pump and Tone, Zumba, and Step.

Both gyms will host grand re-opening events this fall, once renovations have been completed.
World Gym also announced its continued expansion in Canada, opening three more fitness centers in Orillia, Hamilton and Cambridge, Ontario. With these additional gyms, World Gym will have 30 locations in Canada, making it one of the largest full-service gyms brands in that country.

Converting from an existing gym, the new World Gym in Hamilton is located at 1389 Upper James St Hamilton, ON L9B 1K2, Canada. This is the second Hamilton location for World Gym, and is co-owned by Murray Middlemost and Wes Hodgson. This 25,000 square foot location will offer new state-of-the-art equipment, will be open 24 hours a day and will have group exercise classes, tanning, childcare, individual and group training. Once the conversion is complete, World Gym Hamilton will also have a physiotherapy clinic along with chiropractic care.
“This is the second gym I have converted to a World Gym,” said Murray Middlemost, owner and operator of both World Gyms in Hamilton. “My first World Gym has been so popular, I was able to open a second location that will ultimately employ up to 40 people and serve a whole new membership base.”

The Orillia facility is being converted from an existing gym and will remain open during the renovations. As with Hamilton, all of the old equipment will be donated to local community groups and will be replaced with new, state-of-the-art equipment. World Gym Orillia will operate 24 hours per day, and will offer group exercise classes, tanning, childcare, individual and small group personal training, and HydroMassage. The 15,000 square foot gym will have a Barbell Café for members to enjoy a variety of different options to help fuel and recover from workouts. Located at 26 West Street N. Orillia, Ontario, Canada L3V 5B8, memberships are priced at just $10 per month.
The Cambridge club is under construction at 89 Main St Cambridge, Ontario in the historic downtown area. This is the second World Gym in Cambridge, Ontario both gyms co-owned by Marty, Sherry, and Wes Hodgson – and the only gym option available downtown. “We know that Cambridge’s historic downtown lacks a full-service gym,” explained Sherry Hodgson, “and are excited to deliver a world class fitness experience to that part of Cambridge.” This facility will be the national headquarters of World Gym Canada, and will also offer HydroMassage, tanning, group exercise classes, individual and small group personal training, a Barbell Café, and a sauna for members to enjoy. “Our family has grown from one gym in 2010 when we converted our original gym in Kitchener to World Gym to four World Gyms with the addition of our newest facility in downtown Cambridge. We are excited to continue to grow with World Gym and build and operate iconic gyms in the Tri-Cities region,” shared Marty Hodgson.
