ROCKVILLE, MD – Sport&Health opened its 32,000-square-foot gym at Pike & Rose on Sunday, the latest opening at the mixed-use project in White Flint/Pike District.
Sport&Health Marketing Senior Vice President Nancy Terry said the McClean-based company was seeking a more urban feel to match the look developer Federal Realty is going for.
The gym (11594 Old Georgetown Road) is spread through three floors that include a sectioned-off yoga lounge and studios, cycle studio room and CrossFit training area.
Terry said the layout is Sport&Health’s response to the growing popularity of specialty studios.
“We’re trying to give that experience from all those fitness specialities,” Terry said.
Also unique to the Pike & Rose location is a second-level outdoor space that will be used for sunrise yoga, events and other classes. The gym features four studios, a kids area with iPads and other interactive features and a 150-inch projection screen in the “virtual cycle studio.”
It will offer about 70 classes a week, including TRX, TNT Small Group Training and pilates personal training.
