ROSEMONT, IL – Retro Fitness, a high-energy, high-value franchise, has named Life Fitness a preferred cardio vendor as the group continues its development pipeline with new clubs opening across the U.S. The first Life Fitness-equipped club will open in Q3 2018.

Retro Fitness has chosen Elevation Series treadmills and Lifecycle bikes with premium cardio consoles with app-enabled content for new Life Fitness-equipped clubs opening in the coming years, with 10 planned through 2019. Each machine is custom painted to fit Retro Fitness’ bold brand colors and create a unique gym experience for members.

The Life Fitness premium cardio consoles feature customization options for franchise branding, an intuitive dashboard design for exercisers, entertainment apps and interactive content. For franchise operators, Retro Fitness will also use Life Fitness’ new Halo Fitness Cloud, an open architecture facility management tool, to monitor equipment usage and proactively track maintenance tasks for the gym’s cardio equipment.

“As we continue our national expansion, we’re adding options to our gyms that create even more engagement opportunities for our members,” said Eric Casaburi, CEO and founder of Retro Fitness. “The Life Fitness cardio experience brings high-tech options to our gyms for members that want a cutting-edge workout – from running on virtual courses to streaming entertainment.”

Founded in 2004, Retro Fitness began as a regional gym concept, beginning in the Northeast, and has evolved into a national fitness franchise with nearly 150 gyms in 16 states. Retro Fitness is expanding its footprint with plans to have 250 gyms open in the next two years in major markets across the U.S.

“Retro Fitness is one of the leaders on the forefront of digital advancement in the fitness industry, and their success is another proof point that digital fitness and connected facilities are the way of the future,” said Jaime Irick, President of Life Fitness. “We’re thrilled to be joining Retro Fitness on their growth journey, and to be partnering to bring connected fitness experiences to their members.”
