Planet Fitness Expands DC Footprint With Gallery Place Location

TIMONIUM, MD – Planet Fitness, one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing franchisors and operators of fitness centers with more members than any other fitness brand, announces further expansion in the nation’s capital. Planet Fitness Gallery Place is scheduled to open in June at 783 7th St NW, Suite H, Washington, D.C., 20001. It will occupy the former Washington Sports Club space.
“Situated in the heart of Chinatown and in the same building as Capital One Arena, this location typically has very heavy foot traffic and a Metro stop that will allow those both living in the area and commuting to take advantage of our Judgement Free Zone,” said Victor Brick, co-owner of PF Growth Partners (PFGP), a franchise division of Planet Fitness. “We’re confident that our encouraging and non-intimidating environment will be a welcome addition to the community.”
The 19,817-square-foot club will offer state-of-the-art cardio machines and strength equipment, 30-Minute Express Circuit, fully equipped locker rooms with lockers and showers, numerous flat screen televisions, HydroMassage beds, massage chairs, tanning beds and more – all in a hassle-free environment. Introductory membership specials will be offered with online registration beginning this spring.
Planet Fitness Gallery Place will be the first of three D.C. area clubs that PFGP is bringing to the community. The franchise division currently owns and operates 20 clubs in the DMA, including Ivy City and Penn Branch in the nation’s capital. Overall, there are 47 Planet Fitness clubs throughout the area.
