Planet Fitness Announces Expansion in Montgomery County, Maryland

TIMONIUM, MD – Planet Fitness, one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing franchisors and operators of fitness centers with more members than any other fitness brand, is expanding in Montgomery County, Maryland. Ohana Growth Partners, a franchise division of Planet Fitness, will open two new locations:
- Planet Fitness Takoma Park: a 28,782-square-foot space in the Takoma Park Shopping Center (6881 New Hampshire Ave., Takoma Park, MD 20912), and
- Planet Fitness Wheaton: a 28,919-square-foot space in the Glenmont Shopping Center (2201 Randolph Rd., Wheaton, MD 20902).
Construction will soon commence with club openings anticipated by year end.
Both locations will offer state-of-the-art cardio machines and strength equipment, a 30-Minute Express Circuit, fully equipped locker rooms, and numerous flat screen televisions. They also will feature a PF Black Card Spa area with HydroMassage beds, massage chairs, tanning, a RelaxSpace Wellness Pod (where members can relax, reset, and focus on their mental health for up to 15 minutes), and a Recovery Lounge offering a multi-sensory experience combining hot, cold, and compression therapy.
Memberships, starting at $10/month for the Classic Card, include free fitness training led by a certified fitness trainer through the pe@pf program. During a special pre-sale period, the PF Black Card membership will be discounted to $19.99/month. It includes the ability to bring a guest every day at no additional charge, access to all 2,400+ Planet Fitness locations in all 50 states, and access to HydroMassage beds, massage chairs, and tanning, among other benefits.

Last year, Ohana relocated and doubled the size of Planet Fitness Rockville and completed $1.7 million worth of renovations to both Planet Fitness Germantown and Planet Fitness Gaithersburg. Its other Montgomery County clubs include Planet Fitness Silver Spring South and Planet Fitness Silver Spring.
