CLUB INDUSTRY - As initially reported by Club Industry: 24 Hour Fitness CEO, Tony Ueber, has left the company, and 24 Hour COO, Karl Sanft, has taken over as interim CEO, according to a statement from 24 Hour Fitness. Ueber had been CEO since January 2019. He led the company through its Chapter 11 filing in June 2020, brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, and through its emergence in December 2020. Read More...

HAGERSTOWN, MD - Planet Fitness, one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing franchisors and operators of fitness centers with more members than any other fitness brand, recently completed over $1 million worth of renovations to its Hagerstown club, which originally opened in 2009. During a four-month period (which included a one-month closure), the facility was expanded by 4,000-square-feet of space.
