Gold’s Gym Wraps Highly Successful 35th Annual Convention In Las Vegas

DALLAS, TX – From July 10 through July 13, Gold’s Gym, a leading authority on health and fitness, hosted its 35th annual convention at the Mirage Casino and Resort in Las Vegas.

More than 500 attendees, including Gold’s Gym franchise owners, corporate executives, team members and vendors from around the world, came together under the theme of “All In” to celebrate the iconic brand’s growth, preview new initiatives and share best practices. The event also featured powerful keynote speakers, more than 30 seminars and roundtable events for attendees, as well as naming of the 2016 Gold’s Gym Award Recipients.

“The term ‘All In’ has become our mantra here at Gold’s Gym and has been driving every aspect of our business,” said Brandon Bean, CEO of Gold’s Gym. “We’re focused on leading both the brand and the industry into 2017 and beyond with innovation, expansion and optimization of our member journey through customer service and technology.”

The pinnacle of the convention was during the final evening when the achievements of franchisees, vendors and a select group of Gold’s Gym members were honored at the annual awards ceremony. Highlights included the 2016 Gold’s Gym Award Recipients:

  • President’s Award: Adam Ponzio, Gold’s Gym Gwinnett, GA;
  • Franchisee of the Year: Casey Nielsen, Gold’s Gym Northern UT;
  • U.S Visionary of the Year: Mike Epstein, Gold’s Gym Paramus, NJ;
  • International Visionary of the Year: Francis Wanandi, Gold’s Gym Indonesia;
  • Master Franchisee of the Year: Jagdish K. Valecha, Gold’s Gym India.

Among the select Gold’s Gym members who were recognized for their outstanding achievements were the 2016 Gold’s Gym Challenge male and female overall winners, Todd McFarland and Renee Barnes. Overall male winner, Todd McFarland, of Hoschton, GA, lost 54 pounds, 26 percent body fat and 20 inches. Overall female winner, Renee Barnes, of Issaquah, WA, lost a total of 40 pounds, ten percent body fat and 30 inches. Both were recognized for turning to Gold’s Gym to change their lives for the better.

  • Visionary of the Year – U.S: Mike Epstein;
