DALLAS, TX – Gold’s Gym, a leading authority on health and fitness, announced that it has hired Konstantinos (“Dean”) Pappous as its new Chief Operating Officer. With more than 20 years of leadership experience in the health club industry, Pappous brings a strong track record of driving club growth as well as a reputation for developing talent and managing teams. In addition, he has tremendous insight into all areas of club operations.

“Dean’s extensive operational experience and strong passion for fitness will help us thrive as we continue to grow the Gold’s Gym brand,” said Brandon Bean, CEO of Gold’s Gym. “He will play a central role in driving our day-to-day operations while also helping us develop talent and evolve the Gold’s Gym experience. We are thrilled to have him on board.”

Starting out as a fitness instructor in 1994, he steadily rose through the ranks at 24 Hour Fitness. After holding multiple positions, including general manager, district manager and regional vice president, he was eventually promoted to senior vice president of operations. In this role, he was responsible for managing 162 clubs, 8,500 associates and 1.8 million members.

Most recently, Pappous served as regional vice president at the Bay Club Company, an active lifestyle and hospitality company that focuses on sports, fitness, hospitality and family programming. He was responsible for the transformation of the upscale property, talent development and mergers and acquisitions.

At Gold’s Gym, Pappous will oversee the day-to-day operations of the company’s 150 corporate-owned locations. This includes the key areas of sales, personal training, group exercise, facilities management and, most importantly, the Gold’s Gym member experience.
