Genesis Health Clubs Donates Christmas Gifts to 67 Families in Need

WICHITA, KS – Genesis Health Clubs again donated Christmas gifts to families in need in each of the communities in which it operates. The seven-state operation saw families receive assistance in Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, Colorado and Florida, with each of the 67 families receiving hundreds of dollars-worth of Christmas gifts. To ensure the gifts had maximum impact, local school districts were asked to pick the families in the most need near each club.
GFFT, known for its Kicks for Kids and Beds for Kids programs, which give new shoes and beds to kids in need, was proud to celebrate its somewhat lesser-known 4th annual Adopt a Family program. Director DeAnn White shared her thoughts, “Every kid deserves to have the joy of Christmas waiting for them under the tree each year. It’s heartbreaking that some kids just don’t get that opportunity; it can turn a time of joy into sadness. This year, we were able to turn that around for 67 different families to hopefully give them a Christmas to remember.”
White continued, “But it was more than just a donation. I was so proud of each Club Manager across the company. They each adopted a family, personally shopped for the Christmas gifts, and hand-delivered them to the families. They made bonds and friendships that will last for years and give these kids examples of generosity, success, and selflessness to aspire to.”
“We’ve already added two more clubs since we kicked off this program; I’m excited we’ll be able to impact even more families next year.”
