WICHITA, KS – Mr. Rodney Steven II, Owner and President of Genesis Health Clubs, and Chairman of the Board for Genesis Foundation for Fitness and Tennis (GFFT), has announced a new signature program called Kicks for Kids. The program donated $65,000 in new athletic shoes to under-resourced children attending schools in Kansas.

Steven stated, “The foundation was created as a way to give back to our community. GFFT has partnered with Fleet Feet of Wichita to help assist with measuring and providing shoes. Bombas donated 2,000 pairs of socks so each child received two pairs with their shoes. Genesis Health Clubs employees volunteered their time to measure the shoe sizes. We are excited for this program and the impact it will have on these kids’ fitness and education and look forward to continue expanding the role of both Genesis and GFFT in the community.”

Steven continued, “The need for new shoes in the schools is great; one little girl’s shoes were two sizes too small. She struggled to even take her shoes off just to get measured. It’s tough to concentrate on learning or even just play with other kids at recess. It breaks our heart, but we founded GFFT to help make a difference in situations like this.”

Asked about future plans for Genesis and GFFT, Steven laid out some big plans. “This is really just the beginning. I’d love to see the program expand so we can serve children in all of the communities we serve, including Kansas City, Omaha, and Fort Collins. “
