Genesis Health Clubs Continues to Grow as Largest Health Club Provider in Midwest

WICHITA, KS – Genesis Health Clubs has announced that it has purchased HealthRidge Fitness Center in Olathe, Kansas, its 13th Kansas City area location.
The facility, now known as Genesis Health Clubs – Olathe Ridgeview, is a massive health club, including strength and cardio equipment, personal training, indoor and outdoor pools, basketball, racquetball, day spa, indoor running track, outdoor fitness trail, CrossFit, over 100 group fitness classes per week and kids programs, including karate.
Beginning today, HealthRidge members gain access to 40 additional clubs across the Midwest, including 12 others in the greater Kansas City area.
Former HealthRidge owners Joe and Paul Sharbaugh are excited that the facility will be in good hands. “This club is near and dear to our family and we would never turn it over to just anyone,” said Joe Sharbaugh. “Our members and staff have an excellent opportunity to go forward with some of the best operators in this industry. We will miss the daily interactions but will now be there as active members.”
Rodney Steven II, Owner/President of Genesis Health Clubs echoed those sentiments. “HealthRidge is an extraordinary facility. It is absolutely massive and easily one of the largest, most successful clubs in the entire Midwest. Two swimming pools, an outdoor trail, racquetball, I could go on. It has everything!”

Genesis Health Clubs made its largest acquisition in club history in the spring and summer of 2016, doubling in size between April and June. Along with other clubs in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma, Genesis purchased nine additional clubs in the Kansas City area, and has established a major presence in the city since then.
Genesis Health Clubs is the leading health and fitness provider in the Midwest. When asked about making this club a Genesis, Steven replied, “This club will be one of the crown jewels in the Kansas City area, and we plan on treating it as such.
