WICHITA, KS – Genesis Health Clubs has continued its trend of growth, acquiring One Life Fitness locations in Kansas City and St Louis, as well as new club opportunities in Prairie Village and Kansas City’s Northlands. The move adds key locations, securing trendy downtown anchors in Kansas City’s Power and Light District and St. Louis’ Ballpark Village, setting the stage for future growth.

Genesis Health Clubs currently operates 56 locations across six states, including more than 20 in the greater Kansas City area. All former members of the One Life Fitness Clubs and the members of other KC-area Genesis clubs will be granted full access to the new Genesis Power & Light location and the Ballpark Village club in St. Louis.

Genesis Health Clubs Owner and President Rodney Steven II expressed excitement with the acquisition, saying, “Genesis is synonymous with fitness in Kansas City, but we’ve had a few areas that we haven’t been able to really serve yet, but this acquisition gets us into Power and Light, the Northlands, and Prairie Village, all in one fell swoop. The members of this club will instantly get access to dozens of other clubs and hundreds of other classes, plus our expert certified trainers and instructors. It will be great for our members, too, with even more options and convenience in the area.”

Steven continued, “St. Louis is a new city for our team that we’ve been looking towards as a natural place to expand for a long time. We could not have found a better place to get started in St. Louis; the Ballpark Village is really special. With an open courtyard and windows that overlook the Gateway Arch and Busch Stadium, where the Cardinals play, it’s about as quintessentially St. Louis as you can get.”

When asked about future expansion plans in St. Louis, Steven grinned. “All I can say is that we don’t go into new cities to just have one location. The Ballpark Village will act as an anchor, and we’re already in talks for future locations.”
