FIT Athletic to Open Fourth San Diego Location in Mission Beach

SAN DIEGO, CA – FIT Athletic will open its fourth San Diego-based gym in Mission Beach. Occupying 50,000 square feet of oceanfront property in the southern tip of Belmont Park Fit’s state-of-the-art facility offers members an unrivaled resort-like experience, on-the-sand fitness, spa-like locker rooms, cutting-edge fitness equipment, group fitness classes with ocean views with the option to have the floor to ceiling windows open for classes, amazing views from all areas of the club, ocean breezes and a private beach with lounge chairs and food service hosted by the Beach House.
As part of its agreement with the City of San Diego, Fit also refurbished and modernized the adjacent 22,000 square foot Plunge pool, an historic San Diego landmark that was built in 1925 for the World Expo. Renamed “Plunge@Fit,” the fully restored and beautifully modernized pool house, including a retractable roof, reopened in July, and can now be enjoyed by the community and Fit members alike.
Fit’s CEO and founder, Scott Lutwak, first envisioned this facility seven years ago. “I wanted to build a fitness center that would not only serve as a destination for San Diegans wanting to spend a day at the beach, but also help revitalize the Mission Beach community,” said Lutwak.
