NEW YORK, N.Y. – Equinox, a global high-performance lifestyle leader, opens its first standalone Precision Run studio in Flatiron, New York City. Since the program’s inception in 2014, Precision Run has set the standard for indoor running and forged an entirely new cardio category as the first method-driven, performance-based treadmill class. This is the first time Equinox has launched an internal group fitness program into a standalone studio concept.

Co-founded by Creative Director David Siik, Precision Run optimizes the variables of treadmill running, which include speed, incline, duration and recovery. Known as the B.I.T.E. method, this proprietary formula produced an entirely new category of running and has fueled a new generation of first-time runners with a fundamentally smarter approach to rapid progress and results.

“We’re thrilled to bring this groundbreaking program and state-of-the-art studio experience to the public,” said Judy Turchin, Chief Operating Officer, Equinox. “Precision Run has amassed a loyal fan base and we look forward to its continued success outside the four walls of our clubs.”

The studio features 34 proprietary Woodway treadmills with Walnut hardwood and steel accents and technical features that enable a fully integrated user experience, making it the smartest, sleekest treadmill in the industry. At the core of the Precision Run experience is the Dashboard, a smooth, user-friendly interval training screen that encourages runners to find their “Perfect Personal Record.” The dashboard features a one-tap recovery button while the Smart Keys learn every new interval speed and auto populates them onto runners’ screens so that they always have their Last Speed, a true game changer in the overall experience. Precision Run is the first program to expose the need for more appropriate rates of deceleration, or how fast the treadmill slows down from a sprint to a recovery. The Precision Run treadmill has the smoothest and fastest rates of deceleration possible on a Woodway treadmill.

“Precision Run was designed as an intense, yet welcoming, fitness program that turns traditional treadmill training into a pure and authentic running experience,” said Siik. “We’re thrilled to bring that spirit and community to a dedicated space that’s both unexpected and brave.”

Beyond programming, Precision Run has completely reinvented the environmental elements of indoor cardio to further connect runners to the class and enhance performance, including a unique formula of music that motivates and focuses the run, sensorial lighting to match running exertion and oxygen-enriched studios to support physical and mental performance. The studio offers a Hydro Bar with proprietary blends to aid in performance and recovery, including The Mend Recovery, a spiced cherry tonic recovery water by Brooklyn-based beverage company, DONA. An expansive lounge area welcomes the Precision Run community to connect before and after class and is fully stocked with the latest cooldown tools from Hyperice to aid in post-run recovery.

Launching early summer, the Precision Run App will be the first of its kind to enable a friction-free experience, including check-in prior to arrival, seamless booking of multiple treadmills and fully integrated user account which tracks detailed class-level activity (miles, calories, visualizations).

Classes are available for purchase in quantities from 1 run to packages of 30 and an Equinox membership is not required. To book a treadmill, please visit precisionrun.com.
