DALLAS, TX – EōS Fitness, the fast-growing gym chain with over 200 locations open or on the way, solidified its foothold in California with the acquisition of 23 existing gym locations, part of a legendary Southern California franchise. With plans to open 250 gyms by 2030, this strategic acquisition accelerates EōS Fitness’ plans for explosive growth throughout the United States, expanding the company’s portfolio and its positive influence on the health and wellness of communities nationwide.

EōS first opened its doors in Southern California with five locations in 2015. Continuing to surpass the region’s affinity for innovative fitness experiences, EōS has steadily grown within the Golden State. With this acquisition, Southern California is now EōS Fitness’ largest market in the U.S., with 46 locations, and the company has plans to have 50 gyms in the region by the end of 2025.

“While this acquisition accelerates our expansion in a highly competitive real estate market, we are especially grateful to Angel and Willy Banos, the founders of this Southern California franchise, for their vision and diligence in building these gyms and maintaining such high standards of operation over the last three decades,” said EōS Fitness CEO Rich Drengberg. “It’s this foundation that is one of the ways we can extend the premium fitness experience EōS Fitness is known for to a broader audience while enhancing access for existing members.”

In addition to its value as part of EōS’ expansion plans, purchasing these 23 franchise locations is a natural fit from a corporate values and culture perspective. Drengberg played an integral role in the early growth of the group behind these Southern California locations, serving as vice president of marketing and sales for 15 years before departing to build EōS Fitness in 2015.

“The Banos brothers have a long history of setting standards for excellence in the fitness industry,” said Drengberg. “The passionate leadership and dedication behind these gyms resonates deeply with our pursuit of excellence at EōS Fitness. We look forward to advancing this legacy and our shared values, enriched by the innovative thinking of the EōS leadership team.”

With this 23-gym acquisition, EōS boldly leaps into several new high-profile markets in Southern California, including Beverly Center, Hollywood, Long Beach and Santa Barbara. EōS plans to retain 100% of the franchise’s gym-level teams, bringing more than 1,000 new employees to the EōS family.

“As my brother and I reflect on our extraordinary 37-year journey, we are filled with profound pride. We are honored by the progress we achieved, the community we have built and the meaningful contributions made to our members’ health and wellbeing,” said Angel Banos, CEO of the 23-gym Southern California franchise. “Entrusting our legacy to EōS Fitness, a company that has already forged an impressive path in our industry with its highly accessible, quality-driven gyms, ensures our vision and impact continue to flourish across Southern California and beyond.”
