BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Blink Fitness, a premium-quality, value-based fitness club, is excited to announce the opening of its newest Brooklyn location in the landmarked Brooklyn Lyceum building in Park Slope. The club will open the doors to its much-anticipated location on Tuesday, August 1st.

The Lyceum originally served as NYC Public Bath No. 7 and the building was in dire need of a major restoration when Blink signed the lease. Blink worked diligently to retain as much of the historic character as possible, resulting in a spectacular gym space. Preservation of the 100-year-old building includes original exposed brick, large arched windows, and industrial steel trusses that support the twenty-two foot high ceilings.

As a part of the Grand Opening celebration, Blink Fitness will donate 50 one-year memberships, worth over $10,000, to Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow, an organization dedicated to helping disadvantaged youth and adults recognize their own self-worth, and advance towards self-sufficiency and financial security through job training, academic reinforcement, improved life skills, job placement, and support services.

“At Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow, we are excited to partner with Blink Fitness as they join the Park Slope neighborhood. Thanks to Blink’s membership donation, we can send the message that preparing for a career or for college includes taking care of ourselves and attending to our health,” said Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Liliana Polo-McKenna.

Attendees will have the chance to receive Blink Fitness branded gear, while one lucky attendee will win a one-year membership to the new gym. In addition, Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow and Blink Fitness representatives will take part in a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11 AM to officially open the gym to the public.

“We are excited to open our doors in such a historically significant and beloved space, bringing our Mood Above Muscle™ philosophy to our 12th Brooklyn location,” said Kenyon Clemons, Club Manager. “This is a show stopping, flagship location for Blink that we’re sure will become a healthy, happy hub of activity in the neighborhood.”

The newest Blink Fitness facility will boast a broad offering of top-of-the-line strength equipment that includes free weights, plates, and machines for upper body, lower body, and core, as well as a wide variety of premium cardio machines and a multi-use space for additional exercises, stretching, and functional training.

Certified personal trainers will be available for those members who wish to create a custom workout experience tailored to their personal goals. As a gym that promises to provide a premium experience to all who join, memberships are available for as low as $15 per month with a free start up personal training session.

Blink Fitness will bring its Mood Above Muscle™ philosophy to its newest location, celebrating the idea that exercise is not only about looking good, but also about feeling good. Blink Fitness strives to make working out fun and uplifting by creating a Feel Good Experience®, which is made up of five pillars that make Blink unlike any other fitness club. This includes their respectful and friendly staff, bright and open gym design using colors that are scientifically proven to enhance mood, a spotlessly clean facility, and music specifically selected to motivate members.
