NEW YORK, N.Y. – Blink Fitness, the premium-quality, value-based fitness club, announces the company will be expanding its footprint by entering the Philadelphia metro area in 2017. The company is well established in the New York area with more than 50 open locations and 300,000 members.

“With dense neighborhoods, varied transit options and suburbs close by, Philadelphia shares many qualities with our home turf in New York,” said Todd Magazine, President of Blink Fitness. “We look forward to providing both a luxury gym experience at an affordable price and a groundbreaking approach to fitness.” The first four locations that will open are listed below:

  • Whitman Plaza, South Philly: 330 W. Oregon Avenue – Scheduled to open: Q2 2017;
  • Shelly Plaza, North Philly: 8914 Frankford Avenue – Scheduled to open: Q2 2017;
  • Willingboro, NJ: 498 Beverly Rancocas Road – Scheduled to open: Q2 2017;
  • Shoppes at Wissinoming: at the intersection of Harbison and Tulip – Scheduled to open: Q1 2018.

Recently dubbed ‘the Target of gyms,’ by Yahoo! Finance, Blink will provide the same Feel Good Experience™ members have come to expect. Specifically, Blink is committed to providing a modern and colorful design, elevated customer service, relentless focus on cleanliness, energizing music and confidence-boosting training programs—all while offering memberships at a low cost (starting at just $15 per month).

Blink is also on a mission to change the rhetoric around fitness through its Mood Above Muscle™ philosophy. While the majority of the fitness industry touts unrealistic goals and perfect body images, Blink breaks an industry paradigm by celebrating the positive feeling members get from working out as opposed to just the physical benefits. This concept comes to life in the company’s latest ad campaign, “Every Body Happy,” which features real Blink members of all shapes and fitness levels.

Blink Fitness plans to reach 300 locations in the next five years through corporate-owned expansion as well as franchise growth.
