Anytime Fitness Opens 100th Gym in the United Kingdom

LONDON, U.K. – Anytime Fitness announced the opening of its 100th gym in the United Kingdom. The newest U.K. gym is located five miles northwest of London, in Ladbroke Grove. The U.K. now becomes the fifth country with at least 100 Anytime Fitness gyms. The other countries include the United States (2,250 gyms), Australia (447), Japan (178) and Canada (150). Globally, 3,466 Anytime Fitness gyms are located in 26 countries on five continents.
Within the next few weeks, Anytime Fitness expects to surpass 3,000,000 members worldwide. By the end of the year, it’s possible that the company could also open its 4,000th franchised gym. Anytime Fitness reached 3,000 franchised units in fewer years (13) than other franchising giants like Subway (15), McDonald’s (20) and Dunkin’ Donuts (37). Additionally, Anytime Fitness achieved more than one billion dollars in system-wide revenue in each of the last two years.

Founded in 2002, the first Anytime Fitness gym opened in Cambridge, MN. Less than 15 years later, there are now more than 1,000 Anytime Fitness gyms located outside of North America.
