acac Fitness and Wellness Center Opens in Germantown, Maryland

GERMANTOWN, MD – acac Fitness & Wellness Centers announced the acquisition of a new facility in Germantown, Maryland. The new club is located inside of the Johns Hopkins Health Care and Wellness Center, and acac will begin operations in the facility, which currently operates as Healthtrax, in December 2016.
“We are thrilled to become part of the Johns Hopkins Health Care and Wellness Center,” said acac Owner Phil Wendel. “The center is an exciting concept in total health for individuals and families. It is a one-stop shop for health with traditional medical services, community health education, physical/occupational health services and a full-service fitness center all under one roof.”
The new Germantown location offers indoor aquatics, racquetball, basketball, Kids Zone childcare, cardio, free weights, stretching, group exercise, and group cycle classes. In addition, acac will offer wellness programs in partnership with Suburban Hospital, and acac’s award-winning Physician Referred Exercise Program (p.r.e.p.) will feature prominently in the club.
“At acac, we create a comfortable environment where everyone, regardless of age or fitness level, feels welcome and supported,” said Wendel. “We want to create a sanctuary for our members and be the best part of their day. Our goal is to help each member ‘live their best’ by engaging them in programs and activities they can enjoy for life. That is the key to better health and well-being.”
The Germantown location will be acac’s fourth club in Maryland. acac first entered the Maryland market in 2015, when the company took over two Maryland Athletic Club (MAC) locations in Timonium and Hunt Valley. In June, acac opened a third Green Spring location in the Green Spring Racquet Club.
