THOUSAND OAKS, CA – 24 Hour Fitness, the 40-year leader in health and fitness, continues to build on its partnership with Angel City Football Club (ACFC) and the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks (LA RAP) with the return of a one-of-a-kind soccer fantasy camp.
Taking place on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at the Angel City FC Performance Center in Thousand Oaks, this unforgettable day is designed to uplift and empower youth from under-resourced communities through mentorship and movement.
This fantasy camp experience gives 20 youth participants from LA RAP the opportunity to be “drafted” into a temporary Angel City FC squad for the day. From receiving official acceptance letters to donning custom jerseys in the locker room, campers will enjoy a fully immersive journey that combines physical play, skill development, and community-building—all powered by 24 Hour Fitness.
“Angel City FC and the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks are in a unique position to create an unforgettable experience for these young athletes,” said Karl Sanft, CEO at 24 Hour Fitness. “By partnering on events like Fantasy Camp, we’re giving kids the tools, coaching, and confidence they need to see themselves as athletes and leaders both on and off the pitch.”
The day begins with a guided tour of the professional training facility before moving into high-energy rotations that include a media room with mock interviews, a mini player content shoot, a shooting challenge with inflatable goals, and an on-field soccer activity led by ACFC. Campers will be coached and mentored by four current ACFC players, who will also join a closing Q&A session to share personal stories of perseverance, growth, and their journey to the top level of women’s soccer.
This event builds on an ongoing community initiative between Angel City FC and LA RAP to expand girls’ and gender expansive youth’s access to soccer across Los Angeles. Originally announced last year, the partnership is on track to serve more than 15,000 youth annually through no-cost and low-cost programming, leadership development, and a robust coaching pipeline. That mission mirrors 24 Hour Fitness’ commitment to inclusive health and fitness opportunities for all ages and backgrounds.
“It’s in Angel City FC’s DNA to empower young girls and gender expansive youth, and break down barriers in sports,” said Sulema Felix, ACFC Sr. Manager of Community Programs. “Teaming up with 24 Hour Fitness and LA Recreation and Parks to offer this experience to those who might not otherwise have access is a natural extension of our mission.”
The ACFC Fantasy Camp powered by 24 Hour Fitness is the latest in a growing series of events aimed at closing equity gaps in youth sports and ensuring all kids—regardless of zip code—can move, play, and dream big.
