IRVINE, CA – StretchLab, the world’s first and largest assisted stretching franchise, announces the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE) has accredited its proprietary Flexologist Training Program (FTP) for a five-year period. This accreditation means that all Flexologists trained through StretchLab after August 2022 will now hold a nationally recognized certificate in assisted stretching, a first of its kind that cements StretchLab as an industry leader in assisted stretching.

“As StretchLab continues to grow rapidly, we want to make sure the public knows they can trust Flexologists at our studios to provide scientifically-backed, nationally accredited wellness services,” said Austin Martinez, MS, ATC, CSCS and VP of Training and Experience for StretchLab. “This recognition from ICE validates assisted stretching as a mainstream wellness practice and positions StretchLab as the industry leader.”

StretchLab received ICE accreditation of its Flexologist Training Program by submitting an application demonstrating the program’s compliance with ICE 1100:2019 – Standard for Assessment-Based Certificate Programs. ICE 1100 was first published in 2009 as the first standard for assessment-based certificate programs. The Standard is approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for adoption as an American National Standard. StretchLab’s training program consists of 50-70 hours of curriculum focused on stretching, flexibility and mobility training.

Established in 1977, the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE) (formerly the National Organization for Competency Assurance) is the leading international membership organization representing the credentialing community. ICE fulfills its mission through the delivery of education and training programs, in setting quality standards for credentialing, and by providing accreditation services. The ICE membership is composed of credentialing organizations, testing companies, and individual professional development consultants.

Accreditation from ICE marks yet another major milestone in a banner year for StretchLab. In June, the global leader in assisted stretching opened its 200th studio in Huntington Beach, California, and with 750 signed franchise agreements, shows no signs of slowing down on growth. Along with an existing presence in Australia with numerous studios open, recently signed international franchise agreements will expand StretchLab’s reach to Kuwait and Mexico.

Backed by Xponential Fitness, the largest global franchisor of boutique fitness brands, StretchLab has a widespread and devoted following across the U.S. At StretchLab, clients work one-on-one with highly trained Flexologists™ in an open, modern and friendly environment to increase mobility and flexibility and achieve a deeper, more advanced stretch than one can get on their own.
