American Council on Exercise Board of Directors Elects David Nixon as Chair

SAN DIEGO, CA – David Patrick Nixon, Executive Chairman of InformedDNA, has been elected by the American Council on Exercise’s (ACE) Board of Directors as Chair of the Board. He will preside over the 501(c)(3) non-profit Board of Directors for one year.
“Through my years of experience in healthcare and marketing leadership, I have personally witnessed the importance of providing the public with evidence-based, yet easy to understand information; allowing people to make their own well-informed decisions, particularly around healthy lifestyles, and physical activity,” said Nixon. “This is why I am passionate about ACE’s mission to get people moving and am honored to lead the organization as the fitness industry continues to evolve.”
Previously serving as the treasurer of ACE’s board of directors, Nixon’s expertise and guidance supports ACE’s recent successes, including the launch of the updated ACE Personal Trainer Certification study program, the new “Take Action with ACE” online course series focused on equity, diversity and inclusion, and ensuring organizational stability through the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, ACE continues to support the professional development and career success of its 90,000 worldwide ACE Certified Professionals® thanks to the hard work of its board of directors, leadership team, and mission-driven staff.

Nixon brings more than twenty-five years of experience in the healthcare, marketing, and public relations sectors, where he is known for his entrepreneurial drive. He previously served as founder and CEO of The Nixon Group, a marketing communications firm, and later joined InformedDNA as its CEO in 2007.
