HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – With the overwhelming success of the new PTR Hour, Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) is launching PTR Hour en Español. With many hundreds of tennis coaches and fans around the world listening and live chatting during PTR Hour every Thursday, or watching it later on ptrtennis.org, adding PTR Hour en Español is an obvious program extension.

So, now, starting April 28, every Tuesday at 12:30 PM EDT, Spanish speaking PTR members and non-members around the world can enjoy interviews with top current and former players and coaches on PTR’s Facebook. In the inaugural PTR Hour en Español, PTR International Master Professional and Board member, Leo Alonso, will interview Leonardo Mayer, whose singles career high was #21 in the world, and the 2015 US Open Women’s Singles Champion, Flavia Pennetta.

In addition, PTR educational webinars in Spanish are already underway and are available free to everyone via PTR’s Facebook. These will be posted every other Tuesday at 1:30pm EDT immediately following PTR Hour en Español. The next Spanish webinar will be May 5, with Tito Perez presenting Inspiring our Students, Parents and Community Members, the Coach’s Perspective of COVID-19. Members who missed the first episode conducted by Federico Mas can find it on PTRtennis.tv

“After English and Mandarin, Spanish is the third most spoken language in the world,” said Brian Parkkonen, PTR COO. “Because of PTR’s international reach, it stands to reason that, especially during this global crisis, we would expand our new PTR Hour and webinar series to include Spanish.”
