COTTAGE GROVE, WI – Matrix Fitness, the fastest-growing brand in Campus Recreation, is committed to working closely with industry leaders to be on the forefront of innovation while creating a feedback loop that feeds into their philosophy continuous improvement. Beginning in 2018, Matrix put their commitment into action by developing their first ever Campus Recreation Advisory Board.

Matrix worked closely with recreation and wellness consultants CORE Unlimited, LLC to convene a board of industry leaders. The goal was to provide insight on industry trends, product development and best practices. The result was a board consisting of:

  • Ellen Dixon, Assistant Director, Fitness & Wellness, University of Michigan;
  • Jeff Huskey, Director of Recreation, University of California, Santa Barbara;
  • Eric Nickel, Director of University Recreation, James Madison University.

“As a customer, I was excited to hear that Matrix was interested in creating an advisory board comprised of collegiate recreation clients. They were clear that their purpose was to hear directly from us on issues directly related to the needs of colleges and universities, so they could better tailor their products and services to meet the needs of this audience. It really was a win-win proposition” stated Eric Nickel. The Board met on a regular basis to discuss trends, innovation, and how to best meet the needs of the University market. The result was informed decision making driven by the Campus Rec experts.

“Matrix is very grateful for the valuable contributions from our inaugural Campus Rec Advisory Board. Our collaboration has provided numerous improvements in our campus strategies. We are proud to be affiliated with these highly respected and generous industry leaders,” said Marc Loomer, Matrix National Sales Manager for Campus Recreation.

Matrix showcased some of their newest Campus Rec innovations at the NIRSA Annual Conference and Expo in Boston, Massachusetts, February 16–19, 2019. To explore everything Matrix, visit matrixfitness.com.
