BOCA RATON, FL – Orangetheory Fitness, a scientifically backed and fast-growing fitness franchise, announced it has signed a master franchise agreement to expand the unique fitness concept in the United Kingdom. The master franchisee, 3 Kings, LLC, has agreed to open 70 studios over the next decade throughout Southern England, including at least 30 studios in London. 3 Kings, LLC will also be taking over three of the four current Orangetheory Fitness studios in the U.K. The company plans to renovate the existing Orangetheory Fitness studios and open an additional three to five new studios within the next 12 months.

“We are thrilled about this agreement and the explosive growth Jamie Weeks and his 3 Kings team committed to over the next decade in the U.K.,” said Dave Long, co-founder and chief executive officer of Orangetheory Fitness. “When we were looking for a master franchisee for a market with so much potential, we knew we required a partner with diverse and proven business expertise and professionals who deeply shared our corporate values and mission. Jamie has truly got it all, which is evident through his rapid studio growth in the U.S., and we’re confident he will bring the same level of passion to the U.K. market.”

Orangetheory Fitness United Kingdom will be led by several entrepreneurial, highly experienced and passionate executives with proven track records and extensive networks both within and outside the fitness industry. 3 Kings, LLC will be led by Jamie Weeks, the area developer for Oregon and South Carolina and owner of studios in Oregon, Tennessee, South Carolina and Georgia. By the end of 2017, Weeks will own 20 studios in the U.S. Michel Gahard, Amanda Goolsby and Jason Zavasnik will be leading the development in London and southern U.K. for the ownership group.

“When I was approached about the opportunity with Orangetheory Fitness in the U.K., I was intrigued,” said Weeks. “As I began to research more about the state of the fitness industry in London, I knew without a doubt that Orangetheory’s unique workout was perfect for the city and its surrounding markets. My partners and I are very much looking forward to expanding throughout the U.K.”

Orangetheory Fitness launched its first studio in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. in March 2010, and has transformed into one of the world’s top fitness franchises, with more than 620 studios in 45 states and 12 countries. The 60-minute, five zone heart-rate monitored interval training concept has helped tens of thousands of members lose weight, get toned and meet their overall fitness goals in a short amount of time. The fitness franchise is on track to have 900 open studios in 2017.
