LA Fitness Hosts 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb to Honor First Responders and Promote Community Wellness

IRVINE, CA – Fitness International, LLC (“Fitness International”), one of the nation’s leading health club companies and operator of LA Fitness, is proud to announce its inaugural 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb took place September 11 – 13 at select LA Fitness locations nationwide. The event honored the courage, sacrifice and service of the first responders who answered the call during the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

Participants were invited to complete 110 flights of stairs on StairMaster machines, representing the 110 stories of the World Trade Center towers. Open to members, guests, local first responders and community members, the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb offered a meaningful way to reflect on the resilience and bravery displayed on September 11 while promoting fitness, wellness and community connection.

Taking place September 11th – 13th at participating LA Fitness clubs, the event featured firefighter appearances, special fitness classes, live DJs and local vendors, creating an engaging community experience centered on remembrance and service. Open to both members and guests, the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb encouraged participants of all fitness levels to come together under the event’s theme, “Remember. Honor. Climb.”

“The 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is an opportunity for our members, guests, and local communities to come together and remember the heroes who demonstrated extraordinary courage and selflessness on September 11th,” said Jill Hill, President of Club Operations at Fitness International. “We are proud to host an event that honors the legacy of those who served others.”

As part of the event, Fitness International also offered a complimentary 30-day guest pass exclusively for first responders, providing an opportunity to experience the amenities, equipment and supportive fitness environment available at LA Fitness.

In conjunction with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF), Fitness International also provided participants with an opportunity to support the organization’s ongoing mission to honor fallen firefighters and care for their families.
