LAKE NONA, FL – The Racquet Sports Professionals Association (RSPA) announces the hiring of Tim Buwick as Director of Business Development.

Tim has spent his career in racquet sports as an industry executive and multi-sport coach. He worked for Wilson Sporting Goods for nearly 30 years, first as a territory manager, then as U.S. promotions director for racquet sports. In that role, Tim led Wilson’s Wilson Advisory Staff, World Demo Tour and Junior Sponsorship programs. He was responsible for negotiating and activating sponsorship contracts with such organizations as the USTA, RSPA, ITA, NCAA and many others.

At the RSPA, Tim will work with potential sponsors, current endorsees and additional brands to increase the value of RSPA memberships and bring new benefits to members.

“I am thrilled to join the incredibly talented team at the RSPA,” Buwick said. “For nearly 100 years, the RSPA has been the gold standard of tennis professionals across the globe. By now offering certifications in five different racquet sports, it’s the perfect time to unite our industry, given the exponential growth of not only tennis, but pickleball and padel, as well. The passion is palpable. The future has never been brighter in what I have long called The Toy Department of Life!”

Tim has worked with such players as Roger Federer, Serena Williams, John McEnroe, Pete Sampras, John Isner, Grigor Dimitrov, Gael Monfils and Madison Keys and formed close partnerships with such legends as Billie Jean King, John Newcombe and Peter Burwash.

More recently, Tim has devoted much of his time to the pickleball and platform tennis courts, both as an instructor and competitive player. As an RSPA, PPR and PPTR-certified professional in both sports, he produced a series of pickleball instructional videos that have garnered well over half a million views on YouTube.

Much of his off-court time is devoted to his work at The Tim Buwick Company as a writer, keynote speaker, content producer, professional coach, emcee and announcer. He is author of the book, Blasé to Ablaze – How to Turn your Blahs into Ahhs to Ignite Passion & Purpose.

“As our association expands into more racquet sports, supporting new facilities and career opportunities, bringing Tim on board allows us to provide our current endorsee partners with increased support, visibility, and opportunities to engage with our members. This newly created role also opens the door for us to grow our partnerships, enhance sponsorship opportunities, and strengthen our position as leaders in the racquets industry. The combination of Tim’s stature in the industry, his relationships and his personal drive will be a winning formula for our association,” said RSPA CEO Brian Dillman.
