Two Fitness Industry Veterans Join IHRSA Board of Directors

BOSTON, MA – IHRSA, the Global Health & Fitness Association, announces that its leadership elected two new members of its Board of Directors at its November meeting: Bill Davis and Erik Lindseth. The new IHRSA Board of Directors seats represent one member each from the Industry Partner Advisory Council and the National Health & Fitness Alliance Advisory Council respectively. Representatives from these groups will serve two-year terms but will not hold officer positions.

“Serving on the IHRSA Board is an important way for seasoned corporate executives to help support the future growth and success of the global health and fitness industry. I am excited to welcome Bill and Erik to the Board of Directors, and look forward to their continued engagement and leadership on behalf of our industry,” said Board Chair Chris Craytor, CEO of acac Fitness & Wellness Centers and CEO of Welld Health.

Erik is senior vice president and general counsel of Life Time, Inc. He has served as the company’s general counsel since 2010, overseeing the company’s legal team in areas including property development, commercial contracting, corporate governance, employment, consumer protection, intellectual property, licensing and regulatory matters, and litigation management.

Along with leading government relations at Life Time, he serves as a member of the National Health & Fitness Alliance Advisory Council, IHRSA’s U.S. advocacy arm, and plays a key role in leading the company’s environmental, social, and governance initiatives following its return as a public company in October 2021. Before joining Life Time, Erik worked as an assistant attorney general with the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office, and was an associate in private practice. He earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School and graduated with a B.A. from Drake University.

Bill is CEO of ABC Fitness Solutions, the largest global fitness technology provider. Bill joined as president in February 2019 and was subsequently promoted to president & CEO in July 2019. A seasoned technology leader, before joining ABC, Bill held senior C-Suite positions for multiple leading organizations. His previous roles include chief finance officer of Paycor, Inc., a payroll and human capital management solution provider, CFO of Blackboard, Inc., an education software company, and CFO of Allscripts, one of the world’s leading healthcare information technology providers.

While technology and innovation have been cornerstones of Bill’s career, fitness and community have been his passion. He serves on the Board of Trustees for the University of Cincinnati Foundation, as well as on the Board of the Jack & Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation. Previously, he was a board member and Audit Committee Chairman for Catamaran Corporation. Bill earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati and his MBA from Northwestern University and is also a certified public accountant.

The Industry Partner Advisory Council is made up of 12 dedicated individuals who have demonstrated success and a commitment to the health and fitness industry through their businesses and personally have a passion to serve. The National Health & Fitness Alliance was created to unite the advocacy, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, fundraising, and lobbying efforts of the health and fitness industry in the U.S.
