IHRSA Women’s Leadership Summit Coming to AB Show 2018

BOSTON, MA and MADISON, WI - IHRSA and Athletic Business announce an agreement that will bring the IHRSA Women’s Leadership Summit to New Orleans, LA, during AB Show 2018. Last March, over 150 women came together for the 9th Annual IHRSA Women’s Leadership Summit at IHRSA 2018 in San Diego, CA. Health Savings Accounts Bill Includes PHIT – Help Pass It!

BOSTON, MA - Congressman Mike Kelly (R-PA) has introduced the Bipartisan HSA Improvement Act (H.R. 5138). This Health Savings Accounts (HSA) reform bill bundles a number of HSA bills, including and most importantly to the health and fitness club industry, the PHIT Act! This HSA reform bill is now the best vehicle for getting PHIT included in the omnibus spending bill. Put simply, PHIT will pass if the omnibus spending bill includes the HSA bill. Read More...

Bill Dussor, Longtime IHRSA Staff Member, Passes Away

BOSTON, MA - Sadly, we at IHRSA lost one of our own on Saturday. Bill Dussor, Director of Meetings & Trade Shows emeritus, passed away on January 13 after a long battle with colon cancer. While Bill was respected and well-liked by the many industry leaders that have served on the IHRSA Board of Directors during his tenure at IHRSA over the past 26 years, the reality is that the vast majority of IHRSA members probably never had met Bill; but if you ever attended an IHRSA event, then you’ve experienced the fruits of his labor. Bill worked diligently and tirelessly behind the scenes, logging an insane amount of late-night and pre-dawn work hours ensuring that each event went off without a hitch. Read More...
